Will I be able to travel to Sydney in October 2022?
Australian international borders are open for double-vaccinated visa holders.
Visa options are available for our in-person delegates. View the Australian Home Affairs for suitable visa’s and further details regarding travelling to Australia. By registering as an in-person attendee, you will receive a visa invitation letter to support your visa application. You are also required to fill in a Digital Passenger Declaration 72 hours prior to departure and an International Vaccine Certificate.
What is required to travel to Australia?
From 18 April 2022 travellers to Australia will no longer be required to undertake a Covid-19 pre-departure test before boarding their flight. Travellers are reminded that it is your responsibility to ensure you meet the requirements of the airline you are travelling with and any countries you transit through. Travellers in and out of Australia must still be double vaccinated and wear masks on flights and within Australia’s airports. Find out what you need to do to be able to travel to Australia here.
Unvaccinated travellers may still have to quarantine in Australia at their own expense.
Please note: Any advice provided regarding borders, quarantine, COVID-19 testing requirements etc. is of a general nature only and should not replace the information you will find on the relevant Government department websites. You are responsible for meeting all travel requirements for your travel itinerary. As travel regulations may change at short notice, we advise you to check the latest advisory issued by the relevant local authorities before your trip.
Unfortunately, my border is closed to international travel so I can’t make it to Sydney, but I want to be part of IAP 2022. How can I do this?
We are going hybrid – so those that can’t travel to Australia can still be involved in the meeting. We will have a full-suite of online options through our app and other platforms to ensure all delegates who can’t travel to Sydney can still be part of it.
If Covid-19 circumstances change, will I be able to change my registration?
Yes, you will also be able to change your registration attendance option up to 1 October 2022, so don’t worry if circumstances change.
I’m a speaker or poster presenter at the meeting – how will this work if I choose on-line attendance?
The hybrid model ensures that all authors of accepted posters will have the opportunity to present, even if they are not able to travel to Sydney. All poster presenters will have the opportunity to upload a pdf poster and pre-recorded video presentation to the IAP on-line platform. The presenters who are registering as an in-person attendee will also be able to display their poster at ICC Sydney for the duration of the Meeting. The on-line poster gallery will allow in-person and online attendees to ask you questions through the IAP online platform and you will be able to connect with International attendees that were unable to travel.
I’m keen to get to Australia and I am looking at flights - how can I keep updated on the rules for travel into Australia?
For those delegates traveling to Australia, it is recommended to regularly review the Australian Government website - COVID-19 and the border (homeaffairs.gov.au) for the latest advice. We are monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates via the IAP website and other communications. Register at IAP for updates: https://iap2022.com/.
